Talonavicular joint fusion/Hip bone graft?

I had my ankle fused in march. It didnt work out as planned and i am still in alot of pain. I now have the choice of either having a talonavicular fusion (joint just below the ankle) or putting up with the pain. I have been told that i might need to have a hip bone graft for this operation. Have any of you had this operation? As i am only 27 im worried about losing joints at an early age and this causing other problems when im older. Can anyone advise on this? Or advise on how much movement will be lost due to the operation. Also, does any know how painfull a bone graft is? Thanks.
