Husband was shot last Monday and he has been very irrational at the hospital?

My husband is a state trooper and last Monday he was shot while on duty. Well ever since then my husband has been very irrational and just different. Any time i see him he just pushes me away and wont talk to me he is very clamped up. And he is expected to make a full recovery well psychically anyways. My husband is only 26 and i am 28 and we have a two year old son as well as a 5 year old son and i am pregnant with number three. My husband is supposed to come home on Saturday and i am not sure how to prepare my kids for it. And i do not know how to prepare for it myself and i am not sure how to make my husband comfortable when he gets home. Advice?
