Does a landlord giving you an exaggerated 3 day pay or quit notice break your lease agreement?

My lease agreement states that my rent is $700 per month. My landlord gave me a 3-day pay or quit notice that states that I had to give them $1000 or they would procede with the eviction. A few days later they came back and gave me another 3-day pay or quit that states the $700. What 3-day am I supposed to go by? I have not received any eviction papers. Today my landlord's wife called my old phone number which my sister took over and slandered me to her. Is there anything I can do and how will this effect my eviction should they procede?
